The old City Hall that housed the City offices, Police Department and Fire Department was renovated into a Public Safety Building starting in November 2004. A dedication ceremony was held during Riverfest 2006 to welcome the Police Department and Fire Department back into the new building. City Hall later moved into the renovated Bangor Savings Bank building on Main St.

Property Watch Program

In an effort to reduce property crime, the Old Town Police Department provides a service that allows us to look over your property while you are away. The Property Watch Program is designed for the Citizens of Old Town to share information about their property with the Old Town Police Department while the home owner is away for an extended period of time. If you are going to be away from home or property for an extended period of time, you can call the Regional Communications Center at (207) 827-6358 and initiate a Property Watch for you home or property OR go to our Forms Menu and select Property Watch. Complete the form and drop it off at the Old Town Police Department during normal business hours (M-F 7am-3:30pm). There is no charge for this service! The Patrol Division will check your property frequently to make sure it's secure. Property Checks are done at different times throughout the day, sometimes multiple times per day, to avoid any pattern that criminals can observe or adjust to. It is VERY important that you call the Regional Communications Center upon your return to your property to cancel the Property Watch. By cancelling your Property Watch, you can avoid being awoken in the early morning hours by officers checking your property.

E-Mails or Mailed forms CANNOT be accepted for a Property Watch request. You MUST call the Regional Communications Center or dropoff your form at the Old Town Police Department!
