The Old Town Police Department, in an effort to reduce property crime, provides a property watch service. If you are going to be away from your home or property for an extended period of time, you can call the Regional Communication Center at (207) 827-6358 and initiate a property watch for your residence. The patrol division will check your property frequently to make sure that the building is secure. Property checks are done at different times of the day, sometimes multiple times per day, to avoid a pattern that criminals can adjust to. It is VERY important that you call the Communication Center when you return to cancel the property watch. By canceling your property watch, you can avoid being awoken in the early morning hours by officers checking the building.

The following information should be filled out prior to calling the department to request a property watch. You can print this information from your web browser and have the information ready upon request.

E-Mail's cannot be accepted for property watch requests without a follow-up telephone call or visit to our office at 150 Brunswick St.
