Tips for people who are stopped:

• Shut off your vehicle engine and leave the vehicle in park.

• Keep all windows rolled up at least half-way.

• Stay in your vehicle unless an officer directs you to do otherwise.

• Do not try to communicate with or pet the dog.

• An air scent around your vehicle does not constitute a search of your vehicle.

• A positive indication by the K-9 gives officers the right to search a vehicle without a warrant.
